WHO WE ARE

The Ashland County Cancer Association, ACCA, is a local non-profit organization not affiliated with any state or national cancer organization.  The Ashland County Cancer Association was formed in 1947 by Tom Dexter to help cancer patients in the Ashland County, Ohio region.  We are located at 1200 E. Main Street, Ashland, OH 44805.

We are dedicated to helping area cancer patients and their families in a number of ways. You can easily receive support or assistance by calling the ACCA  at 419.281.1863 during business hours, which are: Monday thru Thursday  9:00 am - 4:00 pm, Closed on Fridays & Holidays or email us at acca@bright.net.

WHAT CAN WE DO FOR YOU?

We know that being diagnosed with cancer is a very stressful time for most patients and their loved ones.  We would like very much to help you through this difficult time and can do so in several different ways:

ACCA Resource Library
Our library contains many different pamphlets, books and videos.  A variety of topics are covered such as cancer and different treatments, early detection, and prevention.

Coping Magazine
The ACCA provides a subscription of this magazine to cancer patients and their families.  Inside its covers you will find many ways of coping with this disease and be able to read articles by survivors.

Financial Assistance
The Ashland County Cancer Association provides financial assistance for the purchase of: Medication and Medical Supplies, Prostheses, Durable Medical Goods, Nutritional Supplements required in the treatment of cancer, Wigs, Small Stipends available for mileage to and from treatment centers and doctor's offices.    There is no financial eligibility requirement and any Ashland County resident who has been diagnosed with cancer by a qualified physician is eligible and may receive up to $120 per month for assistance with these expenses.  The director will complete any necessary paperwork.

Support Groups
At the Ashland County Cancer Association we know that talking to someone who has been through a similar experience is very helpful. We can put you in touch with a cancer survivor who can listen and share their experience.


OUR MISSION

The Ashland County Cancer Association, ACCA, is a non-profit organization which provides residents of Ashland County, Ohio who have been diagnosed with cancer with financial assistance and serves as a resource aiding patients and their families.  The Ashland County Cancer Association will assist any cancer patient in Ashland County regardless of age, gender, race, religion, or financial situation.

We are proud to be a part of the United Way of Ashland County and the Mohican Area Community Fund.
